It all started in about 1950 when Silvio and Giuseppina decided to rent and run the restaurant called “Al Cacciatore”. The place soon became a popular haunt for local people.
At the beginning of the 60’s, after building a small house north-east of Maso Filzi, the family’s enthusiasm for running the restaurant together with the son Franco’s initiative and courage led to the immediate transformation of the residential building into a small guest house.
Gradually, small improvements began to make the building more comfortable and welcoming and the guest-house began to attract more and more regular guests.
Another important event happened in 1975 when Franco and Iole decided to get married and the little Massimo was born.
Despite a few difficult seasons, “Mamma Iole’s” skills in the kitchen and “Papà Franco’s” lovely character succeeded in putting the ”Pineta” firmly on the map, and half-way through the 1980’s the couple carried out further building work on the hotel to satisfy the increasing demands and needs of its guests.
Franco and Iole continued to run the hotel and take an active part in the day-to-day tasks right up to December 2005.
The son, Massimo, took over the management of the “Pineta” hotel in January 2006 and, thanks to the invaluable teaching of his parents which, naturally enough, was not always without heated discussions, it is he who carries on the traditions of the little hotel.
A special thank-you to all our guests and their kind words of praise that make us proud to do our job with the utmost dedication and with the warmth that is typical of a big happy family.
